Real (Estate) Advantages!


Having mobile stores located in many major cities throughout the country and particularly here in the State of Utah, Carpet Direct brings some real power to the table for those in the real estate business:

1. Having been advised by a real estate agent, I recently met a California couple at a house they had just purchased in West Point. We measured the home, showed them samples, and the carpet was purchased all within a little more than an hour's time. Our lower overhead and strong purchasing power saved them about 25% over what they would have paid had they gone to a retail store. Best of all, they were advised to purchase a good product that will satisfy them for many years to come.

2. After Purchasing a home in Weber County, a Phoenix couple had run out of time to choose floor covering before they had to catch their plane. At the advice of their real estate agent, they contacted their Carpet Direct agent in Phoenix who directed the Utah agent to measure the house. The product demonstration and sale were handled in Phoenix and the carpet was delivered to Utah at no extra cost to the customer. The Weber County Agent then received the carpet and directed the installation, saving the real estate agent a lot of time and effort.

3. Most recently, I received a call from a real estate agent in Layton who had a seller in Seattle.
The local Carpet Direct representative measured the house and brought the mobile store to the the real estate agent's office where he assisted her in choosing a product that made a lot of sense for the home. Pictures, specifications and a quotation were emailed to Seattle where the carpet was purchased by the seller. The product was then received and installed in Layton. Our goal of providing excellent service for real estate agents was achieved.

Why does the Carpet in my 3 Year Old Home Look Like it is 10 Years Old?




Carpet is always the last thing installed in the home. By the time the Contractor gets around to purchasing it he is usually over budget and is looking for a way to maintain his profit margin. His carpet dealer is all too willing to sell him a polyester product with an inadequate pad that will look decent for about as long as the 12 month warranty lasts. I go into relatively new homes every day and find that the carpet is already packed down and worn out. This is very sad, because it didn't have to be that way. For just a few dollars more the carpet could have been enjoyed for 10 years or so.

Dispite the bad experiences many customers are having, there are some real advantages in choosing carpet as a floorcovering:

  • Carpet makes a home more comfortable; this becomes even more important as we get older.
  • Compared to tile and wood, a good carpet costs less than half as much to install and maintain.
  • Floor Coverings should be replaced every 10 years or so allowing the customer to take advantage of new industry innovations and fashions.
  • Tile is very costly, permanent, and often dates the house.
  • Wood costs about twice as much as carpet and requires periodic expensive refinishing.
